SAP America officeSAP’s first phase of their corporate headquarters used a 6” access floor for wiring throughout the 220,000 sf when completed by Gilbane in 2000.

SAP’s second phase, a near duplicate footprint of the first, was envisioned with sustainability in mind. Designed by FX Fowle and Flack and Kurtz, Gilbane was able to build and attain LEED Platinum status in 2009, the first in the state of Pennsylvania.

Benefits include a lower floor to floor height by eliminating ductwork saving significant costs in steel and façade, personal air control, and ongoing energy savings: 1.22 KW psf as compared to 2.25 KW psf for the original building!
